Bogorodsky Fedor

Bogorodsky Fedor, 1895—1959

Bogorodsky Fedor was born in Nizhny Novgorod in 1895 in the family of a lawyer. After arriving to Moscow he entered the Department of law in the University (1914).

In 1916-1921 he was a pilot in army, the officer of Don navy and the militiaman. He wrote poems in the spirit of "left-wing", revolutionary futurism. In 1922-1924 he studied in Moscow VHUTEMAS (High Art Workshops). His teacher was A.E.Arkhipov. The same time he worked in an avant-garde theatre of N.M.Foregger till 1924. Bogorodsky was a teacher in All-Union Institute of cinema (1938-1959). He was a chief of Moscow branch of Union of Soviet Artists in 1955-1958. He published his "Automonografia" in 1938 and "Artist recollection" in 1959.

Died in Moscow in 1959. Artworks of the painter are in state museums (Moscow, Leningrad, Tver), in private collections of Russia, European countries, Asia and the USA.
